We aren’t yet sure what type of truck Jack Burton will be driving in the remake of the trucking classic “Big Trouble In Little China”, but we do now know that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be driving it.
The announcement, which came last week, met mixed reactions — after all, Kurt Russell’s Jack Burton left Johnson with some pretty big shoes to fill. Some are saying that the character of driver Jack Burton is an everyman and that Johnson’s muscular physique and intense acting style aren’t right for the character.
Supporters of Johnson say that he’s moved beyond his wrestling days to become a more mature actor. In addition, having an actor who is as admired as Johnson is playing the role of a truck driver can only help the trucking community’s image.
