Mail issues continue: Everyone okay after big rig hauling mail overturns in multi-vehicle crash

Published:

Letters and packages were spilled across a Mississippi highway early Tuesday morning after a multi-vehicle wreck caused a semi truck to overturn.

The crash occurred on December 22nd at around 2:39 a.m. near Terry, Mississippi.

According to Magnolia State Live, a motorist lost control on Interstate 55 near Wynndale Road, which led to the overturned big rig. A secondary crash then occurred when an SUV crashed into the side of the overturned tractor trailer.

Only minor injuries were sustained in the incident, but the crash hasn’t helped the USPS out any considering shipping issues happening across the country. Luckily, crews from the USPS in Jackson were able to travel to the scene in order to collect the spilled mail and load it onto vehicles to be taken to various USPS facilities, reported ABC 16.

The accident is still under investigation.
