The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association is gearing up of for the 8th annual Truckers For Troops care package campaign.

6 OOIDA members have filed a class-action lawsuit against the FMCSA under the Federal Privacy Act, claiming that the FMCSA is "unlawfully disseminating reports of driver safety records to potential employers."

This year, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association is continuing the tradition of helping children, grandchildren and legal dependents of OOIDA members to gain an higher education as they recently announced the recipients of the 2014-2015 Mary Johnston Scholarships.

“We have asked the secretary to put into place new leadership at FMCSA,” said the President and CEO of OOIDA, Jim Johnston. “The agency needs to be headed by someone who will approach professional truck drivers with the respect and fair treatment that their important work and commitment to safety demand.”

The FMCSA today announced the agency has submitted a report to congress that states the "current financial responsibility minimums for the commercial motor vehicle industry are inadequate to meet the costs of some crashes."

OOIDA has asked the FMCSA to extend the deadline for the Certified Medical Examiner Registry requirement.

The FMCSA today announced the agency has put the brakes on Utah passenger carrier Serv-A-Bus, LLC. The agency has declared the passenger carrier to be an "imminent hazard to public safety." The FMCSA has ordered the company and its owner to immediately cease all operations.
