Take a look at footage captured near the Clairmont exit on I-85 south in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday.

After a massive fire and bridge collapse caused traffic chaos in Atlanta, a truck driver found himself headed south in the southbound lanes of I-85 while other vehicles were traveling north.

Rather than attempt a potentially dangerous U-Turn, the trucker opts to back his rig up on the interstate.

Said Youtube commenter ‘nowake’, “Dude is working his a$$ off. Try and attempt a U-turn, you’ll go broadside for a minute and jam everybody up, maybe hit somebody. Stay put, and basically be an obstacle in the stream and somebody hits you. Maybe he could have started a slide over to one side of the road, but a slow steady reverse was probably the safest move at that point.”
