Cops Nab 7 People Owing $200K In GWB Toll Evader Crackdown

In just over four hours on Tuesday, Port Authority police busted seven people for George Washington Bridge toll evasions totaling $207,000.

The Port Authority Police Department conducted the crackdown from 4 a.m. until 8:15 a.m.

One person caught, 58 year old Jerome Daly of Teaneck, owed $79,423 for 1,260 violations. He was charged with third degree toll evasion.

A truck driver for Bucephal USA, Aleksandr Kotevski, received a disorderly persons charge to go along with the $61,623 his company owes for 694 known violations.

The crackdown also caught Krenz Express LLC driver Carlos Acosta, 34, with a defaced license plate. He owed $3,672 in tolls and fees.

Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye said of the toll busts, “today’s crackdown sends a clear message that if you don’t pay your share, you will be held accountable.
