Tractor trailer tips over avoiding woman looking to end life


A tractor trailer overturned in Illinois on Monday morning while avoiding a woman running into the road. 

The incident happened on July 31st in West Peoria, Illinois on North Pierson Road. 

According to Central Illinois Proud News, the truck was traveling on North Pierson Road when the woman ran into traffic. The trucker swerved to avoid hitting the woman, causing the truck to overturn. The woman was not hurt in the incident, but fought against officers who tried to take her into custody. She was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. 

The truck driver was also transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The wreck caused a diesel fuel spill from North Pierson Road onto Farmington Road, and a hazardous materials team responded to the scene. 

North Pierson Road and Farmington Road were shut down for cleanup of the incident. No further information has been released.
