Mobile home load shift caused by SUV sideswipe, police say

Published:

A sideswipe from an SUV caused a mobile home load shift for a truck driver in Louisiana on Tuesday.

The accident happened on January 30th in Rayne, Louisiana on Interstate 10 West.

According to Fox 15, an SUV sideswiped the tractor trailer hauling the mobile home as it drove, forcing the trucker to take action. As the driver readjusted after the collision, the load shifted, sending the rig into the median.

At least one lane of the highway was blocked for several hours as crews worked to clear the incident. Backups stretched back as far as six miles. The lane was reopened by 3:30 p.m.

No one was hurt in the crash, but the SUV driver was cited. The details of the citation have not been released.
