CARB Prompts Truck Owners To Register Early

Published:

The Tractor-Trailer Greenhouse Gas (GHG) regulation that applies to all 53′ or longer box box or refrigerated trailers and heavy-duty trucks, manufactured before 2011,  that travel through California, and requires all trucks meet tougher emissions standards is set to go into effect January 1, 2017.

Compliance with the regulation will be costly for truck owners, and some worry that small business will be forced to shut their doors.

This week, the California Air Resource Board urged fleet owners with 20 or fewer trucks, to gain additional time to comply with the regulation, if necessary.
