An early morning fire destroyed a truck stop restaurant in Jackson, Michigan last week.

The incident occurred early Friday morning, December 26, at the 145 Truck Stop.

According to Michigan Live, the fire started near the kitchen-area of the restaurant.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire, however, the store portion of the truck stop was open and employees called 911.

Fire fighters were able to extinguish the flames before the fire could spread beyond the restaurant, however, the store-portion of the truck stop did sustain water and smoke damage.
