Truck driver robbed of wallet and cellphones at gunpoint

A driver was robbed of his money and two cell phones at a vacant lot in Kentucky over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Sunday, November 4th at around 11:42 p.m. in the 2100 Block of West Parrish Avenue in Owensboro, Kentucky.

According to public information officer Andrew Boggess of the Owensboro Police Department, the trucker had stopped in the vacant lot of an abandoned business when a man approached him demanding cash and wielding a handgun.

The driver says he then handed the thief his wallet, cash, and two cell phones before contacting the police, reported the Messenger-Inquirer.

The suspect fled before police arrived but officers are still investigating the incident.
