Chicago police are asking for the public's help in identifying a truck driver who struck a cyclist.

Grand Rapids, Michigan emergency crews spent over three hours extricating a driver (carrying peat moss) who was pinned facing the pavement in his truck on Thursday morning (October 9th).

During Operation Safe Driver Week, law enforcement agencies throughout North America "will engage in heightened traffic safety enforcement and education aimed at unsafe driving behaviors by both commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers and car drivers during Operation Safe Driver Week," CSVA states.

The California Air Resource Board yesterday announced that the agency has fined a Texas-based carrier Vallejo Citizens Transit Co., a subsidiary of MV Transportation, Inc, of Dallas, Texas, $387,750 for "serious air quality violations that occurred when it was under contract for bus services to the City of Vallejo."
