Dates For Roadcheck 2017 Inspection Blitz Announced

Published:

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance has announced the dates for this year’s International Roadcheck enforcement campaign.

This year, Roadcheck will take place June 6 through June 8.

During the three day campaign, officers will “conduct compliance, enforcement and educational initiatives targeted at various elements of motor carrier, vehicle and driver safety”, according to the CVSA website.

This year’s Roadcheck inspection focus has not yet been announced.

During last year’s Roadcheck, 62,796 inspections were conducted in 72 hours.

Of trucks that underwent Level I inspections, 21% were placed out of service. Roadcheck inspectors also placed 3.4% of truck drivers who underwent Level I inspections out of service.

On average, 15 commercial vehicles are inspected every minute during the Roadcheck campaign.

This year marks the 30th annual International Roadcheck, which has become the largest targeted commercial vehicle enforcement campaign in the world.
