Bella the bulldog took a direct hit from a porcupine in Oklahoma City.
Bella went to inspect the porcupine who had come up to the home for a drink of water. The porcupine used its natural defense to keep the dog away, it shot Bella with over 500 quills.
Bella’s owners took Bella to the emergency vet who surgically removed the quills from Bella’s face, neck and paws.
Contrary to popular belief, porcupines cannot shoot their quills. They simply release the quills and back into or smack their predator with their tail-end, impaling the predator with its quills.
