California Man Arrested For Road Rage Attack On Truck Driver

Published:

Road RageA 37-year-old Merced County, California man has been arrested for a road rage attack on a truck driver.

According to the Merced Sun Star, late last month, a truck driver pulled out of the Save Mart warehouse and onto East Mission when he noticed a silver pickup following him and flashing its lights.

The pickup truck driver, David Lee Hauff, then pulled around and got in front of the truck and was indicating for the driver to stop.

The truck driver told authorities that he thought Hauff was trying to alert him of a mechanical issue, so he pulled over.

Both men got out of their vehicles.  The truck driver said Hauff began stating that he was tired of trucks taking up so much space on the road.  The men began arguing and a struggle ensued.

The truck driver returned to his truck and dialed 911.  Hauff allegedly then approached the driver, who was sitting in the cab of his truck with the door open, and stuck the truck driver in the leg with a “chrome object” and fled the scene.

Last week, the Merced County sheriff’s deputies arrested Hauff.  He faces felony assault charges.   He has since posted bond and has been released.

Road rage can be a scary situation.  Would you have pulled over?
