On Monday, Massachusetts police issued an Amber Alert for 8-year-old Patrick Nguyen and his 10-year-old sister Sarah Nguyen. Police say the children’s father, Jon Lockwood, forcibly removed the children from a foster home.
An Amber Alert went out with the description of Lockwood’s vehicle, a 1995 brown BMW 525i with MA plates 478RF8.
An observant truck driver spotted a car matching the description traveling west on I-84 in the area of exit 65, near Windsor, Connecticut.
The driver phoned police to inform them of the suspect’s location. The driver followed the BMW as it exited I-84 and turned left. A short time later, the truck driver lost sight of the car.
State police found Lockwood’s vehicle parked at a South Windsor 7-Eleven. The children were found under blankets in the unattended car.
Police arrested Lockwood when he walked out of the store’s bathroom.
Lockwood will be charged with assault and battery on the elderly, felonious parental kidnapping and breaking and entering. He is in custody on $1,010,000 bail.
