Traffic alert for a stretch of U.S. Highway 75.
Construction work on U.S. Highway 75 between Union and Nebraska City, Neb., is scheduled to begin the week of March 31.
Work will include replacing the existing concrete roadway and replacing it with new doweled concrete pavement on the main roadway and new surfacing on the shoulders. Drainage under the roadway would be improved. As well as some vertical curves being modified to meet minimum stopping sight distances. They also plan on doing bridge repair work to four nearby bridges.
That stretch of U.S. 75 will be closed beginning March 31 and will remain closed for the majority of work, with the roadway expected to be open by mid-September.
A marked detour will be in place using Highways N 2, N 50 and U.S. 34.
