Video: Truckers Against Trafficking ‘I Am Not A Lot Lizard’

You’ve more than likely heard about Truckers Against Trafficking and their mission and you’ve surely heard the term “lot lizard.”

Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is a 501©3 organization that works to “educate, equip, empower and mobilize members of the trucking and travel plaza industry to combat domestic sex trafficking.”

TAT provides training materials such as DVD and wallet cards to those in the trucking industry.  The cards contain an 800 number, so that drivers can report suspected human trafficking victims.

The term lot lizard has been around for many years.  Truckers Against Trafficking is working to put an end to the derogatory term to rest.

TAT wants you to put a face to the victims of human trafficking.  Many of those “lot lizards” are someone’s daughter, friend, aunt, cousin, niece.  They’re often victims– victims of their circumstances, victims of their upbringing and victims of prejudice.  Instead of shunning, shaming and using them, remember: there’s likely a story behind that face.
