Published:

Just two days after one major surprise truck inspection spree, Nebraska State Troopers conducted another one yesterday — with similar results.

Nebraska State Troopers Target Truckers — Again

During Tuesday’s inspections, troopers performed 104 commercial vehicle inspections and placed 45 trucks and 4 truck drivers out of service.

Troopers Looking For Trucks That Might Avoid Weigh Stations

On Thursday, troopers once again placed around half of the trucks they inspected out of service. The troopers targeted truckers in the Omaha area who they believe might avoid weigh stations. They inspected 66 trucks. Thirty-two of those trucks were placed out of service.

Troopers say that they discovered 208 safety violations on those 66 trucks.

One truck driver was placed out of service because he did not have a CDL.

In all, Nebraska State Troopers issued $7,700 in fines.

This is the third surprise truck inspection blitz that Nebraska Troopers have conducted this year.
