Ohio police are hunting for a motorist who shot at a semi truck

Published:

Police are asking for help from the public in locating a pickup truck driver who fired a shot into the cab of a semi truck during a suspected road rage incident yesterday.

The shooting occurred at 1:20 p.m. on March 29 in Wickliffe, Ohio. Authorities say that a trucker was westbound on SR 2 when the incident occurred.

From the Wickliffe Police Department:

The victim told officers that he was westbound on the freeway at the East 305th Street on-ramp, when he noticed a black older model pick-up attempting to enter the freeway. The truck driver was not able to change lanes due to traffic, and this apparently upset the driver of the black pick-up, who eventually pulled alongside the truck and fired a shot into the cab of the tractor-trailer. The suspect then exited at the Lloyd Road exit ramp, while the victim pulled to the side of the freeway and called 911.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his 20s or 30s driving an older model Nissan pickup with an extended cab.

Officers were able to recover the bullet from the truck and are sending it to the lab for evaluation.

Anyone with information on the shooting incident or the suspect is asked to contact with Wickliffe Police Department at 440-943-1234.
