Trucker rolls tanker after talking to Siri during ‘sneezing fit’

Published:

A trucker hauling cleaning solution crashed her tanker due to an apparent sneezing fit.

The crash occurred around 6:20 P.M. on June 3, 2018 on I-65 in Lake County, Indiana.

According to CBS, Julie Duncan, 55, was driving through a construction zone when she began to sneeze incessantly. The Michigan trucker was attempting to talk to Siri at the time of the incident.

When Duncan’s eyes returned to the road, she noticed several construction barrels in her path. When she veered to the right to avoid hitting them, the sharp turn caused her load to shift and the tanker to topple.

“The cleaning solution had to be off-loaded into another tanker before the semi-tanker could be up-righted,” police said. “The right lane was closed for approximately eight hours.”

No injuries were reported.

Duncan was cited for unsafe lane movement.
