Town vows to go after illegal truckers in August

Published:

Police in one city in Kansas are planning a crackdown on truckers who stray from truck routes next month.

The Arkansas City Police Department (ACPD) has issued numerous warnings via social media about an upcoming enforcement campaign in August.

This month, the ACPD has been using their official social media accounts to announce a saturation patrol targeting illegal truck traffic happening in the month of August. The ACPD says that truckers could be ticketed up to $200 if they are found driving on a prohibited roadway.

The ACPD has issued multiple social media warnings about illegal truck traffic in the past few days.

Some local truckers have pointed out that improper signage, not truckers with a blatant disregard for the law, may actually be the reason for truck traffic troubles in Arkansas City.
