EAGAN, Minn. – Women in Trucking (WIT) recently announced their 2021 Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation, honoring Bay & Bay Transportation (Bay & Bay) in that list.

The Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation list is released yearly and is created by WIT magazine Redefining the Road in 2018. It continues their mission to promote businesses that place importance on the increased employment of women in the trucking industry. Searching for companies that fit the parameters set by WIT, over 100 transportation businesses were nominated for this award. These attributes include: a supportive culture of gender diversity, flexible hours and work requirements, competitive compensation, quality benefits training, continued education and development, career advancement opportunities, and well-maintained/safe equipment & facilities for drivers.

Kitso Veasy, Bay & Bay’s Director of Human Resources, details “Bay & Bay values the diversity of employees and ensures it offers high standard benefits, particularly for women employees to meet their needs at any stage of their lives – both professionally and personally.” With Bay & Bay showing the embodiment of these qualities, they are proud to have been considered for the outstanding award. Bay & Bay has a growing population of 10% female drivers and 30% female corporate employees.

Senior Vice President at Bay & Bay, Justin Johnson, shared his thoughts on this important matter: “Bay & Bay continuously works to accommodate the unique needs of their team. Historically, trucking has been considered a predominantly male industry. The continued growth of team diversity, including women truck drivers, at Bay & Bay is a direct result of the culture and values we have as an organization.”

Bay & Bay continues to be a family-oriented, family-first company. Company driver Robin D. shared, “I’m very happy that I have great equipment to drive and I enjoy my dispatcher. You all really do take care of us drivers and I truly love that I can call Bay & Bay my home!”

Owned and operated by the Anderson family, Bay & Bay Transportation has maintained a diverse and inclusive culture since 1941 with family staying a top priority. The drivers know if the need arises to get home to family, they will get there.
