A truck driver is dead after losing control on an overpass and plunging off the side in Michigan on Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at around 5:30 a.m. on August 24th near Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Michigan State Police believe that the semi truck was moving too fast on the ramp from southbound US-131 to westbound I-196 and lost control as a result, sending it skidding over the edge and onto the ground below.

The truck driver was pronounced dead on scene, reported Wood TV 8.
The Michigan Department of Transportation had to inspect for damage to the ramp before the roadway could be reopened, but the area has been open to traffic since 8:30 this morning.
The driver’s identity has not been released.
