A truck driver is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a wreck with a semi truck parked on the shoulder of a highway.
The accident happened on Tuesday, January 5th at around 1:05 a.m. in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
According to City News, a semi truck was traveling east on Highway 401 near Allen Road when it crashed into another tractor trailer parked on the shoulder of the freeway. The moving rig then crashed into a bridge support beam, forcing the cab up the beam where it came to a rest, stacked on top of its own trailer.
Emergency personnel had to climb on top of the trailer in order to reach and extricate the driver.
The driver of the moving truck suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident. His current condition is not known. No other injuries were reported.
