Michigan State Police (MSP) are investigating after a truck driver reported an interstate shooting on Tuesday night.
The shooting reportedly occurred around 7 p.m. on May 18 on I-696 in Detroit.
The truck driver told police that he was eastbound on the interstate near Dequindre Road when a motorist opened fire on his vehicle.
Eastbound I-696 was closed as police searched for shell casings or other evidence. Troopers were unable to find any casings and say that the semi truck did not show any damage from a bullet.
MSP says that the truck driver was able to provide them with the make, model, and plate number of the suspected shooter’s vehicle. Troopers say that the truck driver was not able to provide information on what led up to the shooting.
Troopers contacted the owner of the car described by the truck driver. The car driver admitted to being in the area at the time of the shooting but says that he didn’t shoot at the truck.
The shooting remains under investigation by MSP.
