VIDEO: ‘Not for hire’ truck driver pulled over by state trooper for speeding 20 mph over

Published:

A traffic stop on a semi truck for speeding becomes complicated as the driver tries to explain to the trooper that he is not operating in interstate commerce.

A video documenting the interaction was shared by Bruce Wilson on April 10, 2023.

The video has been viewed more than 1 million times in less than 10 days.

In the video, Florida resident Wilson is pulled over by a Tennessee trooper for speeding 20 m.p.h. over the limit, then he gets hassled about his window tint and his radar detector. When the trooper asks to see Wilson’s papers, things get more complicated as he tries to explain that he’s hauling his own property and not as a “for hire” carrier.

As violations begin to mount and the trooper warns Wilson that he could be facing a “huge fine,” things take an unexpected turn.
