HOS Changes Resulted In ‘Statistically Significant Increase In Truck Crashes’

"This latest analysis from ATRI validates both changes in operations and crash risk that seem to be associated with the restart rule. Regulations should serve to improve safety, not create additional safety risks."
Highway Fatalities Down in 2013
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the 2013 Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) shows a 3.1% decrease in highway fatalities over last year, and a 25% decrease in overall highway deaths since 2004.
