Corvette driver caught hitting 192 MPH — while driving impaired

Published:

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) caught a car driver hitting impressive triple digit speeds earlier this week.

The speedster was caught around 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, near Snohomish, Washington.

According to WSP, a trooper monitoring traffic on US 2 near SR 9 caught a Corvette driver hitting speeds of 192 m.p.h.

Troopers say that the Corvette driver eventually exited on SR 9 and was apprehended near 96th Drive SE.

The 31 year old driver was placed under arrest not only for reckless driving but also for DUI.

With less traffic on the roadways during the Coronavirus outbreak, law enforcement agencies across the country have noticed an uptick in speeding.

Michigan State Police recently caught a Dodge Challenger driver hitting speeds of 180 m.p.h. on I-75 in Monroe County — putting him at 110 m.p.h. over the speed limit.
