Volvo Trucks has developed technology that will do a 360 degree can of a truck's surroundings. Volvo says the technology will "suggest actions to avoid incidents." The technology was developed to help protect pedestrians and cyclists, Volvo said.
A news release and a video from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) says that a study on truck weight and dimensions has found that "The revision of the Directive on the weights and dimensions of commercial vehicles provides a unique opportunity to reduce CO2 emissions more efficiently from heavy duty vehicles," explained ACEA Secretary General, Erik Jonnaert.
“Mack developed the QR code process to reduce the amount of time customers need to wait while basic vehicle data is obtained and entered into the system. They need to be spending their valuable time on the job, not at the dealership.â€
